The Original Dream Eggo house

eggo house

Ever since I was a child I’ve loved egg cartons. There is something about them that looks cartoonish – not to mention their fragile nature made me feel like a super hero when I would smash them to smithereens using well placed karate chops.

At school we would use egg cartons to make robots and other crafty things, or small eco-systems, but Australian creative studio Golden Hen has taken it to another level with the ‘Original Dream’ Eggo house.

The inspiration for this egg carton house was Howard Arkley’s Family Home: Suburban Exterior (1993). Arkley’s work is a commentary on Australian suburban living, so it is only fitting that a dietary staple such as egg’s and their carton’s should be used. Check out more by Golden Hen here.
