Things are beginning to wind down at the farmers market and the lack of pics testifies to that. The onions and garlic are getting smaller, the carrots fewer, the beets a little less abundant. But that is exactly what I like about it. Nature forces you to vary your consumption by what it will and will not allow you to yield.

Here in the USA it’s coming up to the holiday of Thanksgiving, and the traditional side dish of ‘cranberry sauce’ is about to make its annual debut. One farm vendor had an amazing basket of heirloom cranberries for sale that had me drooling…that paired with the blushing granny smith apples had my mind dancing with pie ideas…or maybe an apple cranberry sauce..
