Yes, I am a Brit and tea runs through my veins, but lord knows I love me a good cup of coffee; and there is nothing more I love with my coffee than a dash of good design. Tinderbox looks like it delivers on both counts. Located in Islington London, the coffee shop features exposed ductwork, complimentary coloured wood slats, concrete floors, open shelving and so on and so forth. Basically all the things that make a space look ‘modern’ and whatnot. In other words, you won’t feel out of place sitting there, sipping on your latte and tooling away on your macbook. In fact, you would probably look quite at home.
Is the coffee good? I will let you know if/when I visit. In the meantime, the design would definitely pull me in. The highly identifiable work of Jonathan Clark Architects, it’s a look at feels, to me at least, to be the direction many things are going in good ole London. If you are in or around the London area and get to visit..let me know what you think of Tinderbox!
