What’s cooking my *blogships?

Foodish focused posts from the past week from some of my favourite blogs. (All blogs mentioned and more can be found on my blog roll).

farmhouse carrots

blogroll category: foodie
blog name/url: Sprouted Kitchen
blogger: The delightful Sara with pics by her love Hugh
post i loved: Farmhouse Carrots

Ah, the cooked carrot. Either its done right and tastes great – or its done wrong and bounces around your mouth much to your regret. But this, this is different. Spring onions, honey, apple cider vinegar – this ain’t yo mama’s carrots. Coupled with gorgeous photography this dish is one that looks like the perfect between meal treat – or light meal main course. I know I am going to try it out some time this week!

May garden shoot

blogroll category: designy
blog name/url: mr jason grant
blogger: The lovely mr. grant – stylist for real living magazine australia
post i loved: May garden shoot behind the scenes

It’s no secret that I adore mr jason grant. Maybe it’s because he is an Aussie, maybe it’s because he is good at what he does. Either way, the behind the scenes of a garden shoot really made my week. I have been lamenting and fantasising about the ‘what if’s’ of having my own back garden. Truth be told all I have is a mere windowsill. But if I had a garden..ahhh..I would have dinner parties every weekend. The garden they used for this shoot has the perfect balance of indoors outdoors. It makes me want to host drinks and nibbles as the mild breeze blows through the air and we light candles as the sun bids adieu.

turnipsCarrot tea towel

blogroll category: fashiony
blog name/url: coquette and dove
blogger: The lovely Kate. Of course.
post i loved: { fine design } you wash, I’ll put the telly on…

It’s a funny old thing. I don’t know many women who love to wash the dishes, and I don’t know many men who loathe that same task. Hm. Maybe that’s just me – Kate, of course, dislikes washing up – I agree wholeheartedly. But these dish towels she featured this past week from ‘to dry for‘ would make me consider drying the dishes at least. Ok, I lie. It would make me consider hanging them on the oven door handle.

Lonny April-May

blogroll category: mags
mag name/url: lonny
writer: michelle adams
article i loved: Tastefully done: Pops of colour and clever accessories keep things light and bright in the kitchen

Did you catch it? A new Lonny Mag has dropped and like I used to do with Domino (RIP), I am preparing to delve into it deeply with a pot of tea and some biscuits on hand. The article above caught my eye – with eco conscious bits and bobs for the kitchen and food life. From reusable shopping bags to organic vodka. Check it out at lonnymag.com when you get a free afternoon! And if you work for lonny and are looking for a contributing food article feel free to contact me. Ahem. 😉

yellow egg basket

blogroll category: vintage housewares
blog name/url: three potato four
blogger/owner: janet and stu
post/email/item i loved: Medium sized egg wire basket – $35

Blink and you’ll miss it store, three potato four, is a favourite of mine when it comes to online window shopping for vintage housewares. These yellow baskets were no exception to my usual list of luvs. I do eat a hecka lot of eggs any given week but would love to be able to justify having a basketful of the orb delights on my imaginary kitchen island (my kitchen is too tiny for an island for shame). Previously they had a red and teal green basket but I think only yellow is left…have at it if you will!

*blogships is a rip on an email I got that opened with ‘ what’s cooking my friendships?’
