Market Veg and other tales

Market Veg

If you were in NY this weekend you will know that the weather was practically perfect. Saturday was sunny and warm with a delicate refreshing breeze, while Sunday was blistering hot and called for a beach day.

Thankfully on Saturday I met a friend, went to the farmers market and then joined the myriads of locals, tourists and the like who crossed the Brooklyn bridge. It was so delightful. But what really got me excited was the farmers market veg I picked up. Parsnips, sweet potato, turnips and pumpkin – oh and a thyme plant (not pictured), for my Liberty plant pot.

I had dreams of slow roasting said veg in the oven on Sunday, with a dash of seasoned olive oil topped with sweet onions and spring onions – but my dreams were shattered when I ended up going out for supper. Not to worry – it was fun. Just means the roast veg feast will have to wait til today!
