Magimix Vision Toaster

Vision Toaster

Dear readers. Have you ever seen an invention that was so ingenious in its simplicity, so answered a common cry of mankind that you wondered why on earth you never made the effort to put it into production? Well, this is one of those products. Meet Magimix’s vision toaster..if you are anything like me, there is a thin line between a perfectly well toasted piece of bread for your morning breakfast, and a charred burnt offering to a false god.

If popped too early you run the risk of your ‘toast’ being unable to support whatever your choose to smear on it that morn, if you pop too late, you may well end up tossing that blackened piece of bread out with yesterday’s news. Yes, your toaster may have the ‘bagel, toast, muffin’ settings or if its like mine, it denotes toasting-intensity by a unmeasurable scale of 1-10. (Really, who thinks up these things), nevertheless, you are never truly sure if your toast is done to your satisfaction until it comes hurtling out of the top of your toaster with urgency.

The vision toaster by Magimix puts an end to all the speculation you may have had about your toast’s….toastiness! Check it:

The result of 15 years of research and design, Magimix’s new Vision Toaster uses revolutionary long-lasting quartz heating elements to perfectly toast bread and let you get a peek at the action through a window.

Tucked away in the corners of the French appliance brand’s toaster, the hidden quartz parts replace the traditional metal components not only getting them out of the way for a clear panorama of the toast, but also heating more evenly.

A Window!! Why on earth, had I never thought about that before?! It makes perfect sense! So while you are running around your kitchen trying to fill your Moka with coffee, slicing your fruit salad and keeping an eye on the traffic and travel report you can also keep your other eye on your toast – and pop it when it is only truly ready to your satisfaction.

The adjustable slot, enclosed between two sheets of double-pane glass, can handle various sizes of bread—from the very thick to the very long. What’s the downside you say? Well it is currently only available in the U.K. for £160 the Vision Toaster sells exclusively at John Lewis stores. But hey, it’s only a matter of time til the Magimix makes it to further shores…
