Bye Bye Wedgewood Blue

Wedgewood Jasperware Teacup

There are few things more traditional and British, than some good classic Wedgewood Blue Jasperware, (I painted my living room this colour). But it appears the doors may be closing on the 250 year odd establishment as they went into administration this week.
It may have seemed like the sort of place where your mum and nan went for their special fine china, but in recent years it seems the company had tried to stay current by producing limited edition works with the likes of Will Broome.
The greatest loss though is to the men and women who will be losing their jobs in this horrendous economic sand storm. If classics such as this are feeling the hit to such an extent what hope have we all?

  1. Wow, that’s a beauty of a cup and dish. Very ‘Roman’ style too. Well…aren’t you from Brittania? ;P
Everywhere is still feeling the crunch and it’s always the arts that suffer the most…that includes books and literature too.
